To ensure all lifts are safe, WORKSAFE and Australian Standards requires all lift owners to both:

1. REGULARLY MAINTAIN THE LIFT.
2. CONDUCT AN ANNUAL SAFETY CHECK & TEST FOR WORKSAFE COMPLIENCE.

Dismantle and Check all oil seals

Dismantle and check the main relays

Emergency Safety Gear Check Operation of Rail Guides & Knurled Rollers

Check level at landing & operation of travel limit, switches, hoist ropes & oil trays

Check condition of Sheave & Hoist Ropes

Check operation of all safety circuits & car top maintenance control

Check fluid levels in rail oilers and top up if required to minimise wear

Check top of ram fixings, sheave, roller & hoist ropes for wear

Check operation of hand pump, emergency lowering & door lock valves

Check operation of Hydraulic Safety Pressure Valve

Check operation of all car door limit switches & safety mechanisms

Check operation of all electrical safety systems

Check operation of emergency stop

Regular Lift Maintenance

Periodic inspection and testing of every installation should be carried out at intervals of no more than one year.
